歌德的《浮士德》 天堂序曲

歌德《浮士德》是一本晦澀難懂的書，天堂的序曲，經過反覆參考不同版本，加上參考聖經後，乾脆自己翻譯，只要這一段讀懂，就會豁然開朗。

In contest with the brother spheres,
Rolling with thunder steps along,
Down the predestined course of years.
His presence gives the angels might ,
Though fathom it none ever may;
And thy sublime works still are bright
With splendor of creation's day.

While swift and ever swifter swings
The world with glory into sight,
And heavenly light on golden wings
Yield to the shuddering depths of night;
In foaming waves the sea is flung
Against the rocks with swirling force;
Then rock and sea are pulled and swung
In the spheres' eternal course.
Michael
While storms an angry struggle wage
From sea to land, from land to sea,
Forging a mighty chain in rage
Of ever-flowing energy.
Beyond lies blazing desolation,
Where crashing thunder flames its way;
Thy heralds , though, in adoration
Revere Thy gently changing day.
